Thursdays at The Athenaeum
Starting in 2026, Naptown classes and dances will be downtown at the Athenaeum!
Located at 401 E. Michigan St. on the corner of Michigan, New Jersey, and Mass Ave, The Athenaeum is a beautiful historic building with a number of spacious rooms great for dancing!
Both entrances are on Michigan St.
Primary Entrance: Use the Coat Check Coffee/Basile Theatre doors.
Secondary Entrance: Use the doors to the Rathskellar and take the elevator to Floor 1.
Parking
The area around the Athenaeum has plenty of metered street parking, lots, and garages within a quick walk to the venue.

1 – Goodyear parking lot – free

2 – Firestone parking lot – free

3 – Zion Evangelical United Church parking lot – free, except when The Murat has an event (then it’s $10)

4 – Needler’s parking lot – 2hr max (park at your own risk)

Rooms
Auditorium: Social dances and one set of classes will be held in the Auditorium.
When looking at Coat Check Coffee, go to the right down the hallway. The Auditorium is at the end!
Max Kade Suite: One set of classes will be held in the Max Kade Suite.
When looking at Coat Check Coffee, go to the left and the room will be on the left!
