Naptown Stomp is transitioning into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Near the end of February 2025, Naptown Stomp held a vote with members seeking to transition the organization to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and the vote passed with 71% in favor.
For those curious as to how the change is going, here’s a summary of what’s going on.
This page will be updated as things change.
Why switch to a 501(c)(3)?
Naptown Stomp has been in need of an organizational shift for a while. Many who have served on past boards have expressed they feel overwhelmed and lack support, which has lead to high turnover rates and inconsistent leadership. Along with other benefits, like tax deductions and being able to apply for grants, the structure of a 501(c)(3) was a good fit to facilitate this remodel.
