Naptown Stomp Lindy Hop Society

About Naptown Stomp

As members of Naptown Stomp Lindy Hop Society, we are devoted to teaching and spreading our unabashed enthusiasm for the swing dance known as Lindy Hop.

Naptown Stomp is the only organization in Indianapolis that teaches Lindy Hop as it is socially danced in the worldwide Lindy Hop community today. Ballroom studios often teach swing dancing, but it is usually an unauthentic, watered-down version. Some swing dance clubs dance to disco. Not us! We dance to the swinging big band sounds that the originators of Lindy jumped and jived to in Harlem’s Savoy Ballroom of the late ‘20s and ‘30s.

Naptown Stomp is organized by six elected club officers who volunteer their time to actively spread interest in Lindy Hop through club activities, lessons and other forms of outreach. We gave our first dance lessons in 2001 and have been going strong ever since.

If you want to learn this eye-catching, versatile dance, you have come to the right place!

We invite you to learn swing dancing the Lindy way! Lessons are offered at a very reasonable rate at the Athenaeum YMCA in downtown Indianapolis.
