Learn to Swing Dance
Whether you're new to swing dancing or a more advanced hoofer, Naptown Stomp offers something for everyone. We provide a variety of beginning and advanced classes throughout the year—everything from beginning East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop to Charleston to Balboa. And for a change of pace, even Hip Hop Lindy! And, if you prefer private lessons, we can help arrange those too!
Group Lessons
Singles and couples alike are welcome. We rotate partners during class so you can learn to swing dance with a variety of people.
Continuing Lindy
This class is all about taking your Lindy Hop to the next level. You are comfortable with 6 and 8 count patterns, and dance to somewhat faster tempos. This class will focus on good technique, body movement, and add a good number of new moves to your repertoire. You may even be making up your own moves in the end! This class will pick up where Lindy 2 left off, and will only move forward from there.
- March 4th–March 25th
- 4 classes meeting weekly every Thursday
- 6:45–7:45
- Instructors: Jon and Lisa
- Early Registration ends: March 3rd
Pre-Registration is closed; Please sign up at the door.
Beginning Swing
In this Beginning Swing class you will learn everything you need to hit the dance floor and swing all night long. You will learn basic 6 count swing, as well as Lindy Hop, the bread and butter of vintage swing dancing. The dance is fun and musical, and was developed to fit the rhythms of swing-era music. We will rotate partners within the class, so you don't have to bring a partner, and you get to dance with everyone!

Most Naptown Stomp lessons series consist of five or six one-hour classes. Each successive class builds upon the previous one and students are expected to attend regularly. For this reason, registration for lessons is closed after the first class. This allows students to progress at a quicker pace, as the instructors do not have to repeat lesson material every time new students drop in. While we understand that it is not always possible to attend all classes, Naptown Stomp does not offer discounts or refunds for missed classes.
Cancellation Policy
Most classes require a minimum of 10 students. If we do not reach the minimum, the class may be canceled. In this event, all registration fees will be refunded to the registered students.
Refund Policy
A full refund is given to students who cancel by the first day of class. We do not give refunds after the first class meeting, even for injury, illness, work transfers, etc.
