Workshop: Balboa

Born in the dance halls and on the beaches of Southern California in the early 20th century, Balboa has become one of the most popular and beloved styles of swing today, and Naptown Stomp is bringing you a packed afternoon of instruction for this wonderful dance! This workshop is perfect for those who have little to no balboa experience, or for those who want to brush up on the fundamentals. Starting with the basics of downhold and uphold footwork, posture, and connection, this workshop will cover the essential movement and beginner repertoire of bal, including paddles, comearounds, toss outs, lollies, and more! You’ll be tossing out with confidence in no time! Already know the basics? Feel free to join us at 3pm after our halfway break.
