Naptown Stomp Lindy Hop Society

About Naptown Stomp

Naptown Stomp Lindy Hop Society is a non-profit organization devoted to teaching and spreading enthusiasm for the swing dance known as Lindy Hop.

Naptown Stomp is the only organization in Indianapolis that teaches Lindy Hop as it is socially danced in the worldwide Lindy Hop community today. Ballroom studios often teach swing dancing, but it is usually an unauthentic, watered-down version. Some swing dance clubs dance to disco. Not us! We dance to the swingin' big band sounds that the originators of Lindy jumped and jived to in Harlem's Savoy Ballroom of the late 1920s and 1930s.

Naptown Stomp is organized by elected club officers who volunteer their time to actively spread interest in Lindy Hop through club activities, lessons, and other forms of outreach. We gave our first dance lessons in 2001 and have been going strong ever since!
